WATER RESCUE
For companies working over or near water, four requirements are needed to be compliant with the standard. These requirements are not specific and can lead to unanswered questions. Some of these regulations are covered by specific letters of interpretation to aid you in the decision process.
If you and/or your company are bidding on a project that involves working over/near water, our experienced Water Rescue team will review the project, guide the process, and supply you with a skiff and operator.
Pair water rescue standby with our safety training courses — including HAZWOPER and atmospheric monitoring — to ensure full compliance at waterside job sites.
CONFINED SPACE SUPPORT
Med-Tex Services has been providing fully qualified rescue support teams for over 25 years in rescue support of our clients’ need to meet OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.146 Permit-required Confined Space and 1926.1200, Confined Space in Construction standards.
Our rescue technicians are fully trained emergency response personnel, all with qualifications to perform rescue and provide medical treatment if necessary. All Rescue Technicians are highly trained and must pass a Pennsylvania-certified confined space rescue course, as well as, annual training in simulated confined space rescue drills. Our Rescue Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Need your team trained before entry? Our Confined Space training courses cover both entry procedures and rescue requirements per OSHA standards.
CONFINED SPACE ASSESSMENTS & RESCUE PRE-PLAN DEVELOPMENT
Effective hazard assessments provide the foundation for your confined space process. All major components of the process depend upon an understanding of the hazards. Your training, equipment, policy, procedures, rescue service needs, and other aspects of your approach to confined space safety must be based upon a thorough knowledge of the challenges your entry crews will face.
Assessing your confined spaces to identify hazards and potential hazards can be challenging. Med-Tex Services can assist you with evaluating your confined spaces and will conduct on-site evaluations to identify hazards as well as create entry and rescue pre-plans for each space. Our assessment teams are highly qualified experts in confined space entry/rescue and will provide you with a comprehensive entry pre-plan once the on-site evaluation is completed.
Our safety consulting team can also assist with broader hazard evaluations, program development, and compliance planning.
ROPE ACCESS SUPPORT
What is Rope Access?
Rope access refers to a set of techniques where ropes and specialized hardware are used as the primary means of providing access and support to workers. Generally, a two-rope system is employed: the working rope supports the worker, and the safety rope provides a backup fall protection rescue plan.
Who Uses Rope Access?
- Civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers
- Operations and maintenance workers
- Construction workers and painters
- High-rise window cleaners
- Motion picture and theatrical set personnel
- Tower and antenna installers
Why Use Rope Access?
Modern rope access rescue equipment, techniques, and training can be combined to produce an exceptionally safe, versatile, efficient, and cost-effective way to solve vertical access problems.
- Rope access is safe. Independently certified rope-access technicians uphold an enviable safety record and few lost time incidents while working on rope.
- Rope access is versatile. Technicians can apply the techniques in a wide variety of environments, from confined-space penstocks to massive concrete structures to high-angle rescues to complicated steel installations. Unlike traditional access methods, custom rope-access solutions can fit various applications quickly and inexpensively.
- Rope access is efficient. Systems are installed and dismantled quickly and often require less personnel than traditional access methods. Rapid deployment limits disruption to facility operations by minimizing downtime.
- Rope access is economical. Less personnel, faster completion, less equipment, and minimal downtime mean lower costs.
Rope access also pairs naturally with our fall protection solutions — from initial assessments through equipment installation and re-certification.
