Christopher Feder,

Do you want to learn how to use your hands & equipment on you at 3am to figure out forces, angles how to quickly figure out accurate ways to rig for rescue? This program will go from “Rocket Science to Street Math” and provide tangible hands on training that can be used in the field. At times geometry in rescue environments is largely based on exact numbers using simple math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Typically, in technical rescue we talk in language such as pounds of force (lbf), kilonewton (kN) or Kilogram (kg) and must do some converting of numbers. Additionally, geometry in some programs may include the Pythagorean Theorem and Parallelograms. At 3:00 am on a cold, windy or rainy morning, having rescuers trying to remember complex numbers and math could not only delay rescue efforts, but force the rescuer to quickly calculate numbers incorrectly. At the end of the program, students will be able to quickly associate forces, angles and mathematics using simplified, easy and proven techniques. This program has no prerequisites and is open to all. Departments wishing to pay with a Check or PO#, please contact us.
